I am a student at the Stedelijk College Eindhoven. I am currently folllowing the bilingual programme. This means that half of my subjects are taught in English. I am a very creative person with a love of music and plays. I love to act myself and play on my guitar.
My favourite subject is arts and I love to spend my free time creating all kinds of drawings en paintings.
I am very curious about the Indian society and would love to share my views of the world with students who live in Mumbai and Panchgani.

Hi, I’m Mart Coolen

I’m 16 years old and I’ve no brothers or sisters. I’ll turn 17 in December. I live in Eindhoven and my school is called the Stedelijk College Eindhoven. I follow a biligual coarse, this means that half of my lessons are in English and half of them are in Dutch. Bilingual education is not only very useful for later on in life, but we also have the possibility to go on a lot of wonderful trips, like this one. My subjects are since this year focused on the economic aspect of several subjects, so I don’t have e.g. science anymore, but I do have economy. After the secondary school, I want to go to a university, but I don’t know yet which study. It’s okay that I don’t know yet, because I still have to do 2 more years of secondary school.

In my free time I like to do some sports. I played soccer for several years, but I stopped doing this. I still play some soccer now and then on a field in the neighbourhood. Currently I play tabletennis, I love to do this. I practice every Monday and Wednesday for 2 hours and we have a match at Saturday. Sometimes we have a tournament on Sunday, I even managed it two times to play at the national championship. Furthermore I like to play any ballgame and to surf around on the internet or chat with my friends on msn. I also like to hang out with my friends, watch a movie, having a party or just drink something at someones place.

I’m really exited to go to India. I’ve never been outside Europe before. I’m curious to meet all the students that will join us during the trip and I can’t wait to go India!. I think that this will be a wonderful experience for all of us and I’m looking forward to see other cultures and the big differce between the rich west and the rest of the world. I also signed in for this trip, because I love travelling. A lot of friends are so jealous, so I think we are really lucky to join this trip!

I’m living in the Netherlands and I’m sixteen years old. I’m living in Eindhoven, which is a city in the south of the Netherlands. Music is my passion, I’ve played acoustic guitar for six years and I’ve just started to play electric guitar. I like to play all sorts of styles, for example pop, classic and blues. Also I like to play sports with my friends, sometimes I play soccer or basketball with them. In the weekends I often go sailing with my parents and in winter we usually go skiing. I like nature, but unfortunately we do not have a lot of it in the Netherlands. There aren’t any mountains in our country, so that is definitely a difference between the Netherlands and India and Finland. I like travelling and seeing different parts of the world. I think seeing different countries and cultures enrich your life. I’m really interested in India and I would like to know more about your culture and traditions. A while ago I’ve read a book about a part of the history of India, the time when Gandhi liberated the country from the occupation of the English. Since then I’ve got interested in India and therefore I would like to visit your country. I believe there is much I can learn from this visit and from you. Therefore I think this travel is a very nice opportunity. Of course I also like to meet the finnish people. Although Finland is part of Europe, it still has a different culture than the Netherlands, which I think is interesting. I think that we can all learn a lot from each other and hopefully we have the honor to receive you all as guests in the Netherlands. I’m looking forward to meet you
