Youth Summit 2008 was a magnificent experience, in every sense. I loved the way we discovered India and learned and actually did something about the climate change.

The best thing about the YS was getting to know young people from other countries and working together to prevent the climate chaos, a thing that I’m very interested in. We all worked really hard, especially waking up at 4:30, which was pretty much the worst thing ever (I know that you’ve heard enough about AOL...), but we survived, which makes you think that maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing after all, at least you learned that sometimes you just have to do things that you don’t like.

The other thing I didn’t like about the YS was that the timetable sucked, AOL was that only thing that started on time, everything else started at least one hour late, but that’s the Indian stretchable time I guess, an experience for us coming from Europe where every single thing goes according to the timetable.

And from the bad sides to the good sides; everything we actually did, was really instructive, nature trails especially, I loved them, getting to see the nature and learning about it with the help of some very talented leaders :D
The village visit was another awesome experience, getting to see the way a lot of people in India live, that was an experience you can’t easily get by going to a normal beach holiday.

The visit to Linmala waterfalls or however you spell it, was also a great thing as we don’t have such waterfalls in Finland, at least not that I know of.
There are too many great things to list so I’m not doing that any more than this, just saying that the whole of YS was an experience I’ll never forget and if I had to, I’d definitely recommend it to anyone!
