MIRA PAASONEN

It was so spontaneous idea from me to come to India, so I didn’t have so much knowledge about whole thing. I was going along to some unknown thing. So I felt. But then the departure was soon. I was excited because I didn’t no what to expect.

Then in Mumbai airport Peter was there and also Alban. Everyone was tired after 7 hours flight. We went to the bus and drove to Campion school. The acceptance was great. There was some welcome ceremony, which was nice. I think though everyone was tired so all the students enjoyed it. Then we went to YMCA. Mumbai visit was quite short, so it was difficult to get an opinion about town, which have four times more people than in whole Finland. But I liked Mumbai very much, though there was quite hot all the time. And the Birthday cake in Campion, it was so gooooood. Thank you!

At Monday 13th, about 7 o’clock bus leaved YMCA with the students from Finland, Holland and Campion school. Bus journey was long, we stopped two times… ate breakfast and went to toilet. But then finally we came to St. Peters school. We got some food and picked up some students. They came with us to Spandan. I was excited finally see what was the final destination. Again I was tired when we climbed to the camp. It looked interesting. So started the whole thing.

To wake up at 04:30 was quite new experience. Then cold shower and of course AOL. I was very thankful about AOL, because it was so different thing, you can’t find from Finland that kind of things. It was beneficial; something everyone learned was that you have to give your 100% all the time.

I think the best part of each day was nature trails! It was nice to have some data about nature in India. The whole camp was nice. It was nice to sleep in tents, and in my tent there was 8 girls… 5 from Finland, 2 from Holland and 1 from Goa. Toilets were fine; I had got ready for much worse, so it was a great surprise to see good toilets and showers. The lunchroom was also nice… Food was good, oh I miss the food so much! The visits to near villages were cheery change to normal camp life.

All the people were so nice! Hemanth and the rest of the Abel group were so helpful. Afterwards I’m grateful about every new friend I got. Its nice to get know people from other cultures. I guess it was the whole idea in the Youth Summit. So that at least came true.
So I just want to THANK everyone about so great experience! India will stay forever in my mind and I’m sure I will return there. I will never forget this! THAAAAANKS!
